5 Ways to Use Your Luvabu Splat Mat

The splat mat - the one baby item I didn’t know I needed! It’s not even fair to call it a baby item, when in fact it is one of the most versatile products that can make its way through any stage. To be honest, I thought I had been doing just fine with my newspapers, cleaning sprays and cloth mats, but the Splat Mat has made my busy life just a little bit easier. Here’s how:

1. High Chair Mat

The first and original use for the splat mat is to put it under the high chair or on the tabletop during mealtime. Having to deal with spills and crumbs and food getting everywhere is unavoidable with little ones. As my kids range from age 4 to 12, putting the Luvabu splat mat on their side of the dining room table is the perfect solution to keeping the table clean. Since it is both waterproof and stain proof,  it makes clean up after every meal super easy.

2. Arts and Craft Mat

My kids love to get creative with paints and clay, and the crafts that deal with glue and glitter always seem to make their way onto the dining room table. Even though I support their messy creativity, I always cringe inside (who am I kidding... it’s definitely a noticeable cringe) when I see them lugging out the art box. But with the splat mat, gone are the days of scrubbing the table down or throwing away mounds of newspapers. Bring on the play doh!

3. Play Mat

The jumbo sized mat, measuring at 51” x 51” is  the perfect size for play time. Whenever a friend comes over with their little one, I’ve been able to pull out the mat and have a nice, clean space for baby to play, with plenty of room for toys and friends. For older kids, it’s perfect for an afternoon tea party, cakes and all! The anti-slip bottom keeps the mat securely in place for all sorts of fun.

4. Picnic mat

I can’t tell you how many times I’m at the playground with my kids, and I can’t find a clean place to set down the snacks and/or lunch that I’ve lugged along with me. A day at the park is so much better with the splat mat! Now I can focus on the soccer, slides, and make believe that we are all really there for, instead of trying to stake out a picnic table. It’s big enough for all of our stuff, but folds up small, making it easy to carry. Also, wet grass? No problem!

5. Bath Mat

It’s finally here... every parents favorite time of day... it’s bath time! I know we all enjoy getting splashed and having a sopping wet floor mat. But you know what I love even more? NOT having to deal with that! Using the splat mat makes bath time so much more enjoyable. I can simply place the non-slip mat over the bathroom mats, and the bathroom floor is just as dry at the end of bath time as it was at the beginning. Moms with newborns or infants, you can also use the mat underneath their baby bathtub, keeping your hardwood or carpet floor nice and dry while baby enjoys exploring all the wonders of water!

Here’s all the ways that the Luvabu splat mat has snuck its way into my life, but I’m sure there are other innovative ideas out there. Share your ideas and let us know how you use your splat mat!
